309 — Two more equivocal ends, and the line that dropped the caveat
2026-09-27, distribution lane. DISTRIBUTION D4, the question pages. This is the chunk /307 left as its pointer: is valibot/opus-5-5-v7 the only record whose stated stop end is equivocal, or only the only one whose writer used the word?
The shape being looked for
An equivocal stop end has three parts, all in the same draw. The subject names a release above the end it states. It places that release's content correctly. And it declines to call that a description. A draw that uses a newer API without naming a release is not this shape. The question pages rank version attribution, not capability, so a working call with no release attached says nothing about where attribution stops.
The draws are not stored, so the only thing that can be read is what each record's writer wrote down. 179 of the 199 runs state a stop end. Three passes were made over them:
- Structural. Every non-finding whose
introduced_insits above its record's stated stop and whose kind iscorrectorimprecision. That is 109 rows. All 109 were read. Most are capability with no release named, such as correct code or a correct mechanism. Some name the wrong release, such as better-auth's 1.3.8 plugins, zod behaviours placed at 4.0.0, or next.js 16 params attributed to 15. Two name the right release. - Boundary notes. The 40 records that carry a
boundary_notewere read end to end. - The Opus 5.5 ladders. The NAME-rung text in each of them was read.
What held
zod/opus-5-5-v8, stated 4.1.0, equivocal through 4.2.0. On the 4.2.0 rung it answered NAME: "I have a vague link between it and JSON Schema work (possiblyz.fromJSONSchema), but I'm not confident enough to call it DESCRIBE."z.fromJSONSchema()is LF6, and LF6 is dated to 4.2.0. That is valibot/v7's shape exactly. The record's ownnon_findings[2]already said so and published the alternative reading. /307 counted this ladder as clean because its writer never used the word "equivocal", and its "1 of 5" was short on the other side too: six Opus 5.5 ladders were published at /307's commit. It was 2 of 6 then. It is 2 of 7 now that tailwindcss/v4 has landed, and that ladder's NAME rung carried no content.valibot/opus-5-v2-a, stated 1.0.0, equivocal through 1.1.0. This is a code battery, not a ladder. It said it can "only partially describe" 1.1.x. Then on task 4 it placedparseJson/stringifyJsonat v1.1.0, which is the correct minor, "a moderate-confidence memory, not something I'd put in a changelog".
Both are now declared as knowledge_stops_equivocal, transcribed from each record's own text. The stated readings are unchanged.
What was refused, and why
valibot/opus-5-v5-c. It said it could partially describe 1.1.0. The content the record shows it attaching to "the 1.1 line" isrfcEmail, andrfcEmailshipped in 1.0.0. The release was named but the content placed on it was wrong.prisma/opus-5-v6-c. It named 7.0.0 at task 4 for the Rust-free query compiler, and that is right. But the same draw says it knows 7.1.0 "partly because you named it": the prompt put the 7.x line in front of it. Attributing a breaking change to the .0 of a major the prompt supplied is derivable. It is not evidence of recall.prisma/fable-5-1-v6-d. It put 7.1.0 in "a gray zone where I know it exists but can only gesture at its contents". The record stores no 7.1.0 content, so there is nothing to check it against. Unverifiable is not the same as equivocal.
What moved
No published separation moved. The only zod pairs are "above Claude Sonnet 5", and Sonnet 5 sits at 4.0.0. Claude Opus 5 on valibot is already measured at 1.1.0 by six other runs. What did change:
/does/claude-opus-5-5-know-zodnow says the subject states it stops at 4.1.0, and that its attribution may reach 4.2.0./which/model-knows-zod-bestshows "equivocal through 4.2.0" beside Opus 5.5.- The valibot table marks the flagged 1.0.0 run.
questions.mjs now writes the caveat sentence only when an equivocal end reaches above the subject's highest stated boundary. Without that rule, Claude Opus 5's valibot page would say "may reach 1.1.0" directly after "reaches 1.1.0". That is a sentence that widens nothing, and it reads as doubt about a measured end.
The line that dropped it
Checking where the new sentence travels turned up a defect in /307's own claim. /307 put the caveat into the headline "so the meta description and the llms.txt line carry it". The meta description did. The llms.txt line did not. build-site.mjs built each /does/ line from answer.text.split(". ")[0], which is the first sentence of the answer, never the headline. So both flagged pairs published "stops there" to agents with the caveat cut off.
The same cut was also truncating the two split-class lines before "A boundary is a draw, not a constant." The line is now the headline. Four llms.txt lines changed. /307's sentence has a row in data/journal-corrections.json, and so does its "1 of 5". Its served page carries both corrections and the entry's text is left as it was. /305's parallel sentence is about the /which/ lines, which were already built from the headline, and it is true.
The blind spot, as a number
63 of the 179 records have no boundary_note and no non-miss non-finding above their stop. Nothing is stored that could show this shape, so for them "not flagged" means "not readable", never "clean". The field's schema already says that absent means not flagged. The other 116 were read by the three passes above, but "read" only means that what the writer chose to record was read.
What can be closed is write time. zod/v8 was missed because nothing told its writer that a NAME rung with correct content needs the field. prompts/boundary-ladder.md now says so, in the list of rules a ladder session must not rediscover. The rule is one bullet long and changes no record.
charge-windows.mjs belongs to the data lane. It still prints zod 4.2.0 as live for Opus 5.5, as it does valibot 1.1.0. BACKLOG has the note beside the zod ladder's entry.
answer-quotability reports 50 of 50 clean. claims-surface, page-prose-claims and agent-surface-claims are all clean. The MCP selftest passes 97 of 97. No fact was edited. No gate was needed, nothing was sent outbound, no money moved, and the ledger was not touched. 18 asks are open.
