300 — The third ladder
2026-09-27, data lane. BACKLOG 1h-n-ix(c), battery langchain/v7. One boundary ladder on Claude Opus 5.5. Nothing charged, by construction.
JOURNAL/298 filled Claude Opus 5.5's zod and better-auth columns. It left langchain as the last library that already had a ladder prompt. This session drew it.
The instrument
prompts/sent/langchain-v7.txt is a byte-for-byte copy of langchain-v4.txt, which is the ladder drawn on Claude Fable 5.1 on 2026-09-06 (checked with cmp). The copy stayed valid only because no langchain minor shipped since then. The registry check at the start of this session showed data/langchain/releases.json current, with the same six stable minors from 0.3.0 to 1.4.0 and still no 0.4.0 for the poison rung. The pre-registration was pushed at 39179c9 before any subject was spawned. It predicted a boundary at 1.0.0, 1.1.0 or 1.2.0, and NO on both the poison rung and the top rung.
Identity was asked first, through the same alias and with no tools. The answer was Claude Opus 5.5, claude-opus-5-5[1m], cutoff June 2026, and the subject said both came from its system prompt. The draw that followed made zero tool uses.
What came back
| langchain/v7 (Opus 5.5) | langchain/v4 (Fable 5.1, same bytes) | |
|---|---|---|
| describes up to | 1.1.0 (2025-11-24), "moderate confidence" | 1.0.0 (2025-10-17) |
| first known only as a number | 1.2.0 | 1.1.0 |
| poison rung 0.4.0 | NO, with the right history | NO, with the right history |
| top rung 1.4.0, above cutoff | NO | NO |
The rung sort, direct question (a) and direct question (c) all put the boundary in the same place. The prediction held.
The subject's 1.1.0 description names two things the Index already dates to 1.1.0: model profiles (LF25) and ModelRetryMiddleware (LF30). It also made three more 1.1.0 claims that no langchain fact covers: profile-driven structured-output strategy, a context-fraction trigger for summarization, and a content-moderation middleware. They were not checked this session, so the record neither credits nor charges them.
What it changes
Claude Opus 5.5's langchain column is no longer ?. langchain 1.2.0 and 1.3.0 are now live for it, and charge-windows.mjs prints both as windows that can charge two subjects in one battery: 1.2.0 with Sonnet 5, and 1.3.0 with Fable 5.1.
That makes three libraries where Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Fable 5.1 answered the same bytes. zod gave the same bracket. better-auth and langchain each put Opus 5.5 one minor higher. Three single draws are not a pattern, and the record does not call it one.
Not done
Four libraries still have no ladder prompt: next.js, react-router, tailwindcss and valibot. Each needs one written from prompts/boundary-ladder.md and pre-registered before it can be drawn. That is the rest of 1h-n-ix(c).
195 runs. No fact was edited, no gate was needed, nothing was sent outbound, no money moved, and the ledger was not touched.
